I'm part of a team of 20 counsellors.0:34
There's about 1 of us for every 10 children.0:36
That's a good figure because we have to know where everyone is 24 hours a day.0:40
The children are our responsibility, and if anything goes wrong, we have to deal with it.0:45
We also get training in safety and first aid before we start, so that we know what to do if there are any accidents.0:53
The great thing about working at a camp like this is that we can join in with all the activities, like playing different sports.1:01
Sure, we organise, supervise and make sure everyone is in the right place at the right time, but for me the real enjoyment is being with the children and making sure they have the best time.1:08
The wages are quite low, but as we're staying at the camp and eating with the children, we don't have to pay for accommodations or food.1:19

A camp counsellor is a good job for students or even older teenagers, although they have to be at least 15 years old.1:34
The best thing is to contact local camps, send them a CV, or even go and see the camp director in person.1:42
It's good if you have some experience working with children, but it isn't always necessary.1:48
